Receptionist / Executive Administrative Assistant Duties:
In the role of receptionist, you will be required to greet guests as they arrive, and answer a multi-line phone system, directing calls to the appropriate individual.  A cheerful disposition and being well spoken is essential, even when handling the occasional “difficult” phone calls.  Many times, people will call with a prayer need, so feeling comfortable praying with/for people is a requirement.  A neat appearance is needed, as you will be the first point of contact for visitors. Other responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: making tea/coffee, cleaning the kitchen, keeping the front office & workroom tidy, writing/editing weekly letters for visitors, input of information into the church database, opening & distributing mail & shipments, handling staff birthday cards, ordering water for the office, overseeing the distribution of petty cash and reconciling the account as necessary, as well as receiving & handling highly confidential requests.  Experience with Microsoft products (Office 365) is a requirement, training will be provided for our in-house database system.

In the role of Executive Administrative Assistant, you will work alongside one of the VCC pastors, handling highly confidential information about specific individuals and situations. Integrity in your dealings with these situations is imperative.  Experience in coordinating meetings & events is a plus, but not a necessity, as detailed training will be provided for each event you are responsible for.  Attention to detail is very important, as well as being well-spoken and having a good grasp of basic grammar rules when composing letters and emails.  Must be able to “think on your feet”, looking several weeks or months ahead, in some cases, to work with the appropriate departments within the church.  Meeting & event scheduling will be a requirement, as well as coordinating a busy schedule for the pastor you will work alongside. Good communication will play a major part in your day-to-day activities, which may include, but are not limited to: taking phone calls and scheduling appointments for a pastor, submitting background checks for volunteers within different departments - keeping up with renewals when they are needed, requesting events to be scheduled and working with the graphics department and the IT department to ensure advertising and sign-up for your event is correct, occasional coordination of weddings or funerals with the pastor, oversight and communication with several of the ministries and leaders here at Victory, and working with the events coordinator for those meetings you have oversight of.  Experience with all Microsoft products (Office 365) is required; experience with InDesign is a plus, but not required.  Training will be provided for our in-house database system.

Every staff position at VCC may require working some weekends, as well as all major events & conferences.  You should be able to move quickly and be on your feet for long hours.

Salary: Hourly compensation TBD, including overtime pay when necessary.

Hours: Usually 29 hours per week, exceptions are conferences and special events. Your specific schedule will be determined at the time of hiring, but regular office hours are Tues-Friday each week.
